Mihon Quickstart Guide
How Mihon Works
Compatible Apps
All of these apps are compatible with Mihon extensions :
note : Mihon is the successor to Tachiyomi
Extensions
Using an extension is leeching off a website, similar to using an adblocker. You aren't contributing anything to the site while still using their bandwidth for free. Site developer has no reason to support what you are doing. Don't complain to the developer if the extension breaks, they are probably the ones who broke it. Send your complaints to extension maintainer instead. Extensions can be manually installed using
.apk or through repositories that will also handle auto update. The most popular repository are
Keiyoushi. Here's how to install the repository:
- Automatic
Add repository
- Manual
Settings -> Browse -> Extension repos / Edit repos -> Add
https://github.com/keiyoushi/extensions/raw/repo/index.pb
Some app aren't compatible with new extension format, you can try other repo.
Other repo :
Nyora,
Yuzono,
Kavita
Selecting Extension
After adding the repo you can view and select list of extensions inside the app. You can pick anything you like. Quality of the extensions heavily relies on what website it scrapes from (target website). You should experiment with each options. There are a few tings to consider :
- The availability of the extension depends on the target website, which mean if target website is down, blocked, or banned your access. The extension will stop working.
- The content of the extension is exactly the same as that on the target website, including all the good and the bad.
- Most of the extension for unpopular sites are rarely maintained and often broken.
